Do YOU Have What it Takes?

Almost on a daily basis Karen and I receive emails from affiliates asking "What is the best way to promote affiliate products and services"

The answer is not a simple one and there is no single method. In this article I am going to explain two possible methods of promoting and selling your product, program or service.

METHOD #1

Promoting via your web site using banner ads and/or text links.

And it is no good simply adding a banner or a pre-written text ad with link, sending out hundreds of ads promoting your own web site and expecting loads of sales, it just won't happen.

You need to have a strategy! And guess what?

We have one you can use :) The following steps are for affiliates with their own web site, if that's you, then please read on ...

If you do not have your own web site, then please check out method #2 further down!

STEP #1

Assuming you have an affiliate program or product to sell, your first step should be to add this program to your web site.

And you do this by way of an endorsement!

An endorsement is basically your review of the product or service, written in your own words.

Remember ... Bullets work!

So list the benefits you have found for the product using bullets. Make sure that your review of the product is NOT just a sales pitch, make it informative.

When you have finished your review, link the product to your affiliate site using a TEXT link NOT a banner link.

By all means add a graphic to your review, but avoid the programs pre-designed banners like the plague ... they will only serve to lose you credibility.

STEP #2

To get people to your web site the best thing you can offer in your ad is a FREEBIE, a free report or a free ebook works well.

Create your free offering. You can add a free ebook for download at your web site or you can write up a report, set it up on an autoresponder and then add links throughout the report to your affiliate endorsement at your web site.

If you are using the autoresponder method, you would need to use the autoresponder email address in your ad not the URL.

And if you are using the free ebook download as bait, then please make sure you send people to your web site to download the ebook and supply a form that they need to fill in with their name and email address before they receive the download. Add these addresses to your autoresponder follow up system.

STEP #3

Now all you have to do is get people to your web site and to do this you must ...

Promote, promote and promote!

So, let's look at the three steps in brief ...

STEP #1 - Add your product to your web site using an endorsement.

Now this is all very well if you have your own web site, but what do you do if you don't?

Work from ...

STEP #2 Create your FREE offering!

In this case it would be a free report that has some connection to your product or service that you are selling.

Write up a report that contains valuable informative information, AVOID the sales pitch.

Link your report to your affiliate web site.

Open up an autoresponder account at one of the following:

Add your report to your autoresponder and make a note of your autoresponder email address.

STEP #3 Promote, promote and promote!

Send out ads to Classified ad sites, FFA sites and Safelists your heading could read something like this ...

FREE report shows you how to etc ...

In the body of your ad include your autoresponder email address.

You can also offer your free report at discussion lists and newsgroups that you are a member of.

Then once you start receiving email addresses of prospects who have requested your report from your autoresponder account, keep their names and emails on file to follow up with in the future. DO NOT use these addresses to promote OTHER products and service just keep to the product or service that the report was referring to, otherwise you could be accused of SPAM and believe me, you don't need that problem :)
