Selfishness- A virtue

A true selfishness is a virtue.

But a person will not be truly selfish if his/her needs and interests are induced instead of natural.

Look at a person whose life is dedicated to accumulating wealth or power or both.
Why is he/she doing that? They want to elevate themselves in the eyes of others.
They want themselves to be seen as the first or best by others. They in fact live for others [rather than others’ estimations] and they are truly not living for themselves. Hence their selfishness can be termed as psuedo[false]-selfishness.

But first or best are relative terms subject to change at any time. Hence a psuedo selfish person will have to be alert always to be in the race. His/her parties and enjoyments must also follow this role.

A psuedo selfish person will neither have time or energy to focus on his/her body or mind.

A person needs to listen to his/her body and mind to lead a healthy life.
Only when a person develops a healthy relationship with his/her body and mind, he/she can listen to his/her environment. This will be possible only if the person is truly selfish.
A truly selfish person will nurture nature and society. He/she will never brand such nurturing actions as `sacrifices’. They also will come under his/her selfish actions.

A truly selfish person will treat wealth and power as servants.

When a truly selfish person enjoys a SMALL life, wealth and power will be good servants. When a person leads a BIG life, there is always a threat of these servants becoming masters. When a person succumbs to such a threat, he/she will start leading a psuedo selfish life. Peace and happiness will become elusive dreams.

Let us enjoy a truly selfish life.
