What Is Applied Faith?

One of the principles of success is Applied Faith. What does that mean to you? The American Heritage Dictionary defines Faith as "1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, an idea, or a thing. 2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. The Bible (NKJV) says it like this "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" Hebrews 11-1. Napoleon Hill says "that Faith is a state of mind which may be enjoyed only by those who have learned the art of taking full and complete control of their minds!"

Now that we have a clear definition, I ask the question again: What does Applied Faith mean to you? If you can answer the question, and believe the answer, you will have a good grasp on success. The problem most people have is not in defining the terms, but applying it to their everyday lives. Why do they not apply it, because they don't believe it? Their whole basis of faith is in question. How can you have faith and not believe it?
In order to have faith, you must believe in something big enough to justify that faith. Beth and I have a lot faith in ourselves because we place our faith in something bigger than us. We believe in God! We believe in his Son, Jesus Christ! How could we be capable of anything without having faith in a Supreme Being?

Napoleon Hill states that "the universe simply could not exist as it does without being the product of an Infinite Intelligence." He is talking about God! Do you think God could make anything without a purpose? Do you think He would create anything without giving it the capability to do so? I certainly do not.

I know it is not as easy as just doing it, but it is that simple. You have to believe in faith. The ironic thing is faith is just that, believing. If you believe in faith and act upon that faith you can achieve anything! Napoleon Hill says it best in The Master Key to Riches; he says "When the mind has been cleared of a negative mental attitude the power of Faith moves in and begins to take possession!" That brings up another topic: Positive Attitude. How can you have a Positive Attitude without faith? I will talk on that subject another time.

I guess what I am trying to say here is with faith you can do anything! It is up to you! Ask yourself what it is you want to do with your life (that in it self is a tough question). If you know the answer, are you doing it? If not, why not? I am only guessing that it is due to your lack of faith. What do you place your faith in? Is it in something bigger than you are? If you could do anything without the fear of failure, would you do it? Have faith! You must believe in yourself. You must believe in the talents God has given you. You must believe in God's Purpose for you. You must have Applied Faith.

The bottom line is you must apply your faith! Use the principle of Applied Faith!
