Top 7 Steps For Creating Unlimited Success This New Year Author: John Robson & Patrice Steen
New Year's is traditionally a time for resolutions--when we vow to live our lives better than we have in the past. Unfortunately, we treat our resolutions as wishes made on stars. We declare them and then simply hope they'll come true. Well, it takes more than wishful thinking to change our behavior. If you want to succeed with your resolutions, you need to attend to 7 basic steps. Follow these guidelines, and you will achieve your dreams.
1) Know Your Life Purpose
Few people clearly know their life purpose, let alone live it. Yet, the more we align with our essence and our value system, the more our life begins to flow more easily and become more meaningful. As we fully connect with our purpose, we notice an increase in clarity, energy, abundance and synchronicities that support us in fulfilling our mission. Having a clear life purpose connects people with their own inner power.
2) Set Meaningful Goals
It has been proven, time and time again, that people who set goals and work their goals achieve success while those who don't, generally achieve very little. Goal setting helps us get clarity about what we want, set priorities, create a plan and attain results. Even more, the goal setting process enables us to take control of our lives. As we plot targets and move towards achieving them, we bring focus to our days and find meaning in our actions. Our self-esteem, happiness and fulfillment grow as we clearly see ourselves moving forward in life. Success breeds success.
3) Tap the Power of Daily Journaling
Journaling enables us to work with the vast resources of our subconscious minds. On the one hand, it gives us the means to anchor our goals deeply in the subconscious so they may be manifested. On the other hand, journaling allows us to retrieve information from our subconscious that is not normally available to us. All we need to know--all the answers and the wisdom we could ever need to live the life of our dreams--lies within us. And journaling offers the simple tool to access that wisdom.
4) Master Time Management Principles
Once you have a sense of your life purpose and you have set meaningful goals for yourself, you will be driven to get the very most you can from your time. Time management references often teach people how to enhance their efficiency--how to do things faster and more easily. However, we invite you to evaluate WHAT you are doing with your time and how well your actions serve your greatest purpose. Value your time and your life as priceless commodities. Enjoy every moment as it unfolds. Own your power to take control of your life. This is your life, and only you can decide how to use it. You can choose to see yourself as a victim of the agendas of other people and of circumstance, or you can claim your ability to be enriched by all that you do.
5) Stimulate your Creativity to Expand Your Options
Every mind is creative--all you need is the training and practice to get your mind working in new and different ways. When you develop your creativity, you will be able to solve
problems faster and more easily and you will have more fun and meaning in life. Sparking your creativity will also build self-trust and awareness. Once again, we all have the right answers inside of us. The key is to know how to draw them out.
6) Develop Your Awareness and Intuition
Since the time of Aristotle, western society has come to depend solely on rational thinking and the scientific method as the way to understand our world and ourselves. We have been taught that if something can't be explained, it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, with this belief system, we have denied, discredited and lost access to a valid and highly valuable source of knowledge that lies within us. Accessing knowledge through our extra senses is available to us all. It's not a gift possessed by some people and not others. In fact, we perceive through our "extra" senses all the time but most of us are unconscious of doing so. With simple awareness exercises, we can significantly expand the information available to us for improved decision making.
7) Track Your Growth and Success
If something is important to us, we need to measure it. It is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life. When this happens, we tend to spend all of our time doing what is most urgent rather than what is most important. We get trapped meeting the expectations of others, even to the point where we lose touch with our own needs and desires. Tracking tools help us give top priority to the most important things in our lives, whether that be personal growth, relationships, career, health, family or whatever. The tools help us maintain the intention and the attention we need to keep our lives in balance. They offer measuring sticks so we can monitor our growth and successes. With this regular discipline, each year just keeps getting better.
